"Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your currentsituation." - Brian Tracy You know I could be a whiner – I could whine about this weather. It’s 20 degrees right now and predicted to be 17 before morning. The weather forecast says it’s colder than normal. Burrrrr. Yes, I am a sunshine worshiper and I love the temp 80 and above. Generally, I enjoy waking up early however here lately it’s been dark. First thing, I’d mosey to my office and without thinking I’d be looking out the window. Funny thing I’d be seeing a reflection of myself. It’s no wonder, it was dark outdoors. I’d much rather be viewing a beautiful blue sky. Daylight savings time to the rescue! While I hear many people complain about the change of time and how it should be left alone – and while I’m sure everyone believes their position is the ‘right’ one – I’ve decided daylight savings time is best for me. Knowing that I’m going to wake up to daylight is exciting! The first cognitive thought I’m saying is “Thank you God for another day!” and that sets my pace. YES!!! Yes, I could be a whiner – its one thing to view the dark but to live with dark thoughts and whining (both being negative) I decided to put my attention to those things such as daylight in the morning and having an attitude of gratitude. My day is so improved. Tell me, do you whine? What are you grateful for? How might your day be improved if you focused on one thing that you’re grateful for rather than whining? Happy thoughts make a great day! Smiles, Glenda |
